36 to '77
Synopsis:
Originally conceived as “Night Cleaners Part 2”, work on ‘36 to ‘77 started around material on the strike by night cleaners in Fulham (1972) arising out of the Cleaner’s Action Group campaign. It deals with the life of one of the cleaners, Myrtle Wardally, who was born in Grenada in 1936. The film is made up of five portraits from her recollection of the past, as well as moments from the present. G. B. 1978/Dir Marc Karlin, Jon Sanders, James Scott, Humphrey Trevelyan. 85 mins.
